Nunhead Cemetery features in many of the Harrison Lane books. It’s an amazingly atmospheric place, peaceful and beautiful as well as full of so many personal stories from the Victorian era when it was built.
A 52 acre site, it was consecrated in 1840 as one of the magnificent seven Victorian cemeteries. It fell into disrepair and was only re-opened again in 2001. Here’s just a few of the photographs I took.
